Group Reading: Session One

Intention: what is the collective experience of this container that we are all participating in?

SUMMATION:

We begin this journey with the spark of inspiration and this one tiny spark will soon grow into a roaring blaze of intuition and creativity. Just remember, fire can warm, or it can burn. When it is contained and held in respect and reverence, your work will have the tremendous healing power of truth. Become grounded in your practice and maintain your connection to your spiritual intentions.

Card 1: Hope (left) - Terrapin of Bolts: The Other One

“The bus came by, and I got on, that’s where it all began”.

Inspired and electrified Terrapin reaches out and unites with the fulfillment of his ambitions. He contains all that he needs to be successful and from this high vantage point he can take in the whole landscape of his vision. The Terrapin wants you to take an active and creative stance in how you are embarking on this journey with your tarot. This the spark needed to set you on your way. You’re on the bus, its time to take the ride!

Card 2: Fear (right) - Six of Skulls: Row Jimmy

“Two bit piece don’t buy no more. Not so much as it done before”.

A boat sits adrift between the shore and the horizon. What lies beyond that horizon is still unknown. In all directions, Skulls encircle our vessel, revealing the presence of doubt and anxiety. It’s normal to be nervous and uncertain when starting something new. Let yourself trust this journey you have chosen and allow the wind of your higher self fill your sails and move you forward beyond the choppy waters of fear.

Card 2: Reality (center) - Five of Bears, Reversed: Stella Blue

“Dust off those rusty strings just one more time, gonna make ‘em shine”

Five bears circle together at the base of a tree. It’s dark and cold with a full moon shining overhead. Reversed, the tree with its blooming rose vines, takes on the appearance of roots reaching down to find nourishment and sustenance. This work is preparing our inner foundation. Although we may be feeling some scarcity now, this feeling will pass as we begin to look up at our potential for growth.

Card 4: Highest Truth (top) - Knight of Skulls: Delia DeLyon (Stagger Lee)

“The song that woman sung was look out Stagger Lee”.

Delia as the knight asks each of us to balance our fire and air, our creativity for the work we are doing with the mental discernment to get the job done. We have a job to do, and Delia ensures we will get it done. The potential is for each of us to become the purveyors of truth and justice, to communicate the messages of the tarot effectively and honestly. A bit of warning, fire and air can be explosive when combined. So don’t lose your head!

Card 5: Shadow (bottom) - Fire : Fire on the Mountain

“There's a dragon with matches that's loose on the town, takes a whole pail of water just to cool him down”.

As the only higher arcana card in this reading, the Fire offers both encouragement and some tough medicine for our process - we must stay in alignment with the highest intentions of this work. This card symbolizes the fire of purification. If we allow our egos to take over the process, we may get burned. Instead, choose the path of integrity and humility for what is sacred.
